Did you end up getting the Tamron 18-270? If so, hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. I have written a full review of it here – https://valerieandgriffin.com/tamron-18-270mm-f3-5-6-3-di-ii-vc-pzd-review/
Hope it helps and continue to enjoy your travels!
]]>Hi Jade and James. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the compliment on the photograph. I saw y’all have done the Tongariro Crossing and looked like y’all enjoyed it as well.
I am working on a full review of the lens in the next month or so with I will post here, but in the mean time, I would say if you are looking for versatile and light lens that has more range than any other on the market for your DSLR, then the Tamron 18 – 270mm is the way to go. One of my few frustrations with it is the 3.5 – 6.3 minimum f-stop, but I knew that going into it and for the price, weight and range I could not find a better option. I use it on the Canon 7D and can usually just boost the ISO up if needed so as to make the 6.3 f-stop at 270 not as much of an issue. hope that helps. Feel free to reply or email me with any more detailed questions. Happy travels!
