...Valerie and Griffin met on October 27th, 2007 at Katye and Garon's wedding where she was a Bridesmaid and he was a Groomsman. Because of Griffin's work schedule, he was not able to attend the rehearsal dinner, so the first time they met he was in a tuxedo and she was in a formal dress.
...Several of the other members of the wedding party talked to both Valerie and Griffin separately to ask if they might be interested in getting to know each other better. They were also paired together at every opportunity and did have the opportunity to talk with each other. One highlight of the day was when they were paired together to ride in a Rickshaw pulled by Katye's stepdad!
...As the day came to a close and Griffin was walking Valerie back to the church, Katye's stepdad pulled us both aside and essentially asked us out for each other. After the awkwardness of that moment subsided, Griffin asked Valerie for her number.
...On their first date, they visited the Wild Animal Safari and had fun feeding the animals. Afterward they drove to Auburn for lunch and spent several hours walking around campus and talking. Griffin told Valerie and he was interested in pursuing a relationship with her and seeing what the Lord had in store for them.
...They have been together ever since and are excited that the Lord has led the the two of them to become one.
