2014 Sponsors

We are in contact with some amazing companies about partnering with, promoting and reviewing their products.  We will add those below as they come to fruition.  We are not sure yet who all will be on board, but we can assure you they will be awesome!

NIK SoftwareNIK Software was generous enough to send us their award winning photo editing software. Their software allows you to take normal looking photos and perform easy and precise adjustments to make them sharper, more colorful, beautifully black and white or just use your own creativity to make your photos look amazing. We highly recommend checking out their products and be sure to check back for a full review. They won a TIPA award for their truly amazing software – a prize which has also been won by a few other programs you may have heard of such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Apple Aperture!

SmugMug

While searching for the best solution for storing, sharing and selling our photography travel photography we came across SmugMug. We looked at the top five photo sharing sites in our search, but all fell short in one area or another, except SmugMugSmugMug was the only one we found that could store, share, archive and sell our photos as well host our videos all on the same site. The company also handles printing in a multitude of sizes as well as packaging and shipping our prints all across the USA. We are excited to be teaming up with the people over at SmugMug for all our online media storing, sharing and sales needs and Griffin is hoping to use this partnership with such a great company and platform to turn his photography hobby into a profitable business. Thanks so much for the pro membership SmugMug to help us share our experiences with the world!

2011-2012 Sponsors

Valerie and Griffin World Tour Pin Design Option 4

We would like to thank the following sponsors for their help and support of our previous trip:

Tamron
The awesome team from Tamron USA is the exclusive lens sponsor for our trip and have generously supplied us with two of their awesome lenses for our upcoming new post feature Travel Photo Of The Week! For landscapes and interior shots they are providing us with the Tamron SP AF 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II LD Aspherical [IF]. For everything else they are giving us their award winning Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD LD. These will allow us to cover everything from 10mm – 270mm with only two compact and travel friendly lenses. Thanks so much for partnering with us on this trip of a lifetime, Tamron!

Meünchen Tourismus

A big thanks to Isabella Schopp & München Tourismus for hosting us and providing many activities during our fun and memorable visit to Münich! München Tourismus is a wealth of information about Munich and the city itself could provide a month of activities. We highly recommend seeing Munich and utilizing all that München Tourismus provides for travelers.

Velbon Tripods OSN

I was looking for a lightweight, compact, but still sturdy and strong travel tripod and found what looked like it would be a great option in the Velbon UT 43D! If you haven’t checked this thing out for Travel Photography you are missing out. Amazingly compact and light for it’s size while still very flexible in positioning ability. It folds down to almost nothing and extends to full size tripod length. The team over at One Source Network was kind enough to send us one as a sponsorship for our trip and we will be posting a review and some pictures soon. We’d like to thank David and the entire One Source Network Team for their support. Look out for some great shots taken using this tripod soon.

Pulse ActivewearPULSE Activewear has been kind enough to outfit us with their line of merino wool underwear for our travels. We’ve heard that wool is the best for travel and we are excited to test it out. We’re sure to put it to the test when we are trekking our way to Everest base camp, and I know that these amazing PULSE Activewear products will keep us warm and comfortable. Wool is naturally anti-microbial and also quick-dry, both important for long term travel. Merino wool is the softest available for a comfy fit and the natural fibers are actually better for your health than wearing synthetics. PULSE Activewear products are made in Denver and tested on top athletes to ensure good quality. We’re excited to be partnering with such a great company. Look for updates and product reviews coming soon!

Sandeman's New Europe
We’re so excited to partner with Sandeman’s New Europe Tours. New Europe is the first thing you should check our when you visit any of the 14 cities they represent. It’s hands down the best way to get acquainted with a new city and find out everything you need to see and do there. We started with them in Berlin and have been addicted to their FREE Walking Tours ever since. They also offer tons of paid tours that put the others to shame. Seriously, do yourself a favor and join up with New Europe as soon as you arrive!

Goose Feet
When traveling long term, comfortable sleeping is important. While researching pillow options, we were excited to come across Goosefeet, who agreed to sponsor us with two of their awesome down pillows. (They also make down socks, which I desperately want to try out when we get back home!) These pillows are ultra light, so they won’t weigh down our packs, and compress down so we can fit them into almost any tight space. When night time comes, just shake them out to restore their shape. They are also lined in taffeta or ripstop, which will come in handy with all of the tugging we’ll likely be doing to get to our stuff! Check back here for a review of these pillows in the near future. Thanks, Goosefeet!

olloclipThe team over at olloclip was nice enough to send us their awesome iPhone 4/4S three-in-one lens. This thing is so cool. It easily fits in your pocket or laptop bag, etc. and includes a macro, wide angle and fisheye lens. If you are looking for a fun and well built product to add some new excitement and interest to your iPhone photos, be sure to go check out the olloclip iPhone 3-in-1 lens.

kogeto dotKogeto hooked us up with on of their cool Dot accessories for the iPhone 4/4S. The Dot is a clip on attachment with a curved mirror that allows you to take 360 degree panoramic videos. This is so cool and blows our minds to watch some of them. The coolest thing about these videos is that you can watch the video multiple times and still not see everything that is going on in the video. If that sounds as cool to you as it did to us, head over their website and check out their latest “DotSpots.”

Daniel Jalkut of Red Sweater software sent us two copies of his awesome offline blogging tool called MarsEdit, which we are really excited about using during our trip. MarsEdit will allow us to draft posts for our WordPress blog while we are traveling around without internet and allow us to publish with the click of a button once we have an internet connection again. As you can imagine, this will be a very helpful tool for blog writing while offline. MarsEdit also works with Blogger, Tumblr, Squarespace, TypePad, Movable Type and many more blogging platforms.  So if you are looking for a great offline solution with a beautiful interface for the Mac, we highly recommend you check it out..

Comply Foam TipsWe’re excited to be partnering with the great team from Comply Foam Tips, who have generously supplied us with several pairs of their in-ear sound isolating foam earphone tips. These are applied to your earphones for better comfort and sound quality, as well as blocking some of the outside noise. We tend to always be seated next to whatever crying infant is available on any flights, trains, etc., so we’re particularly happy about trying out these tips. The comfort factor always becomes an issue for in-ear products, so the unique materials in Comply Foam Tips will certainly help with that as well. Look for our reviews of this product coming soon. Thanks Comply Foam!

Tarmac sent us one of their really cool new Zip Shot tripods to use.  If you haven’t seen this thing, you need to check it out.  It’s great for traveling as it is lightweight, but still stable enough for most cameras and it sets up in a couple of seconds thanks to the tent-pole like legs.  We are really excited about using it on our trip.

Would you like to sponsor us or know someone who would? We’d love to hear from you here.
